Celebrating International Women's Day at Linden: Inspiring Inclusion

Linden was one of the first girls' schools in the world to be founded on feminist principles, and on International Women's Day (IWD), we honour our roots.

The collaboration between the SK/Grade 1 and Grade 7 students in organizing this year's IWD march is a vivid testament to Linden's dedication to empowerment and solidarity.  Together, they crafted presentations for the full school and designed vibrant banners.

They guided students through poster-making and learning chants. Students, staff and family members came together on the day for a lively, spirited march around the neighbourhood. Loud chants filled the air, and our team of drummers kept the energy level at maximum, drawing cheers and honks of support from community members and passersby.

This year's theme, Inspire Inclusion, aligns beautifully with Linden's founding values: students reflected on the importance of ensuring that we advocate not only for women and girls but for all marginalized or under-represented because of their race, faith, gender identity or sexual orientation.
